There are some bars that have recorded music going all day and people hang out there. We have been choosing a different bar/restaurant everytime we walk down the beach looking for a beer or something to eat.
We rented a scotter and rode it into the only town with stores on the island. It was about a 30 minute ride across the island from where we are. Part of the roads are dirt and part are paved.
The machine. Semi automatic with a faulty starter. At one point we were afraid we would never get it started and make it home.
We picked up some water, fruits and some food in town. There were about 20 little shops and restaurants in the town.
We had a great lunch on baked prawns.
This is another village along the way. The pier at this village is where the long tail boat let us off from the mainland. From there, a Tuk-tuk took us to where we are staying.
Along the road there are acres or rubber trees that are tapped for the rubber sap that flows from the trees. There are little rubber processing sheds scattered through the woods. Some of the cups were all tipped over and some had rubber sap. It must be gathering time.
