Krabi, February 9th

We took the morning flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then to Krabi. Our flights from each destination were only about an hour long. When we arrived in Krabi we had to take a taxi to a boat pier, (taxi ride 600 Baht, about 20 minutes).  Then we had to take a long tail boat to Ko Pu island where we were staying. (long tail boat ride to island (about 40 minutes, 140 Baht) when we got off at Ko Pu island we had to take a motobike to Bon Homie Cottages where we were staying (about 20 minutes, 140 Baht).

Chiang Mai Flower Festival, February 8th

We decided to stay in Chiang Mai another two days because the city was celebrating its 38th Flower Festival. It is the highlight of this area. There was a parade of 40 floats, all made from flowers. a beauty pagent, dance presentations from the different ethnic tribes, street foods, shopping vendors and thousands of people in the city. The pictures below are from this celebration.

We ended the evening by going out to a really nice restaurant called the "Whole Earth Restaurant".
The food was very good. This was our last night hanging out with Deb and George, although we went to the airport together and flew to Krabi together the next morning.  There, we each went our ways with the promise to meet again. We had a great time hanging out together.

Our last meal in Chiang Mai.
