We decided to stay in Chiang Mai another two days because the city was celebrating its 38th Flower Festival. It is the highlight of this area. There was a parade of 40 floats, all made from flowers. a beauty pagent, dance presentations from the different ethnic tribes, street foods, shopping vendors and thousands of people in the city. The pictures below are from this celebration.
Dance performance by the Long Neck tribe and opening speach by the Chiang Mai governor and his wife.

The daughter of the man above with her pet boa!!
We ended the evening by going out to a really nice restaurant called the "Whole Earth Restaurant".
The food was very good. This was our last night hanging out with Deb and George, although we went to the airport together and flew to Krabi together the next morning. There, we each went our ways with the promise to meet again. We had a great time hanging out together.
Our last meal in Chiang Mai.
