Sunday, 12th We said good bye to the staff at the Jade Hotel and headed for Hoi An this morning.
Little Buddha (Otter) arranged for a car and driver to take us to Hoi An. Cost - 1,559,175.00 Dong ($75).
We traveled 4 hours by car over the mountains and through the rain. We stopped at China Beach, on the South China Sea, drove through the Vinh ??? Pass, stopped at the Marble Mountain gift shop (incredible marble sculptures) through DaNang to Hoi An.
We stayed at the Hoang Tu Homestay. It looked lovely at first but the service we had was terrible. They never cleaned our rooms, gave us towels or refilled the fridge with beer.
We walked into town, about 10 minutes from homestay, had lunch, checked out the shops, and looked for a cable to transfer Jon's pictures to the iPad.
Let the SHOPPING BEGIN! Hoi An is well known for its tailors and custom made silk clothing. We stopped at a tailor/silk shop and Charlie and Jon had silk shirts made and I had a silk dress made. We had our first fitting.
We had supper and went home to get a good nights sleep. MIstake, the beds were like sleeping on a board.
